not that much... tension it just enough for it to stop spining the cranks... if you tension it too much then everything will wear out faster

If you're running SingleSpeed then you really need to watch out for the cassette body. I hear it's really soft aluminum so it's recommended that you run the widest single speed cog you can find. For gears, run a spider.

hopefully you ordered the hope pro 2 TRIALS, because the normal hope pro2 won't take as much abuse. I dont know much about the rest of your choices.

i agree with that dude on the forum that said alex rims Supra Ds are awesome BUT I hear the azonic hubs are quesitonable. I dont know if that's true, but you should check out on the hub reliability.
